Dibyendu Dey

He is from the city of joy "calcutta", India and completed his Integrated (BS&MS) Masters in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India in 2005. He has been working on the project "Tunable Cascade Laser". Other than research, He loves to watch foreign films, listen to sufy music and hang around with his friends [:)]

Dey

Jack Kohoutek

He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a BS in EE in 2005. He spent the following year in graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania, and started at Northwestern in the Fall of 2007. His research interests lie in the area of single photon counting modules, optoelectronics, optics, and electromagnetics. He is also interested in engineering and math education.

Jack

Ryan Gelfand

He studied physics at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. After graduating he worked as a chemist for Heinz and then Abbott Labs. He is interested in surface plasmons and opto-electronic devices. When not in the lab you can find him in the kitchen, on the soccer field, or at the symphony.

Ryan

Omer Gokalp Memis

He is from Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, where he got his Bachelor's ('03) and Master's degrees ('05). He is currently working mainly on single photon detectors, with a side interest in novel optoelectronic designs for lasers and detectors. He enjoys taking photos, skiing, sweating in a squash court, watching movies and modding gadgets. He loves to chill on the Mediterennean.

Gokalp

Wei Wu

He got his BS in Microelectronics from Peking University, China in 2006. His current research project is tunable quantum dot infrared detectors (T-QDIP) based on a novel nanolithography technique. His research interests include micro and nano-optoelectronic devices, nanotechnology (nanolithography, quantum dots, and quantum wells), photonic crystals, and nanoelectronic devices. In his spare time, he likes to play sports, listen to music and cook.
